Links are where a migration quietly breaks a site's history. There are five shapes here and they must not all be treated alike.

• Root-relative: tarte tatin
• Absolute, old origin: phở bò
• Nested page path: kitchen notes
• Same-page anchor: on patience
• External, which must not be rewritten: the Maillard reaction

Everything above the fold is the summary; this is the part behind the more tag. Whether that distinction survives is a decision, not an accident.¹
